Statue of Liberty was viewed to immigrants as a symbol of freedom and a fresh start of opportunities from their homelands. It welcomed them with open minds and free spirits in which they believed they would have a definite bright future in a way they never knew was possible.
Ellis Island on the other hand was the place where billions of immigrants would have to experience before entering the country. This was where people were checked on medically and where they came from.
Although both landmarks have there different stages mentally with the immigrants they were both very important to the immigrant movement which took place. Billions of people had to go through seeing the Statue of Liberty and experiencing the entrance of Ellis Island. Even though that was in the past up to this day billions of people still visit the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island to learn their history or even just as tourists to see what had happened through that great stage of immigration.
