Miracles
It’s not every day you hear a 4 year old was shot square in the forehead and that he actually lives to talk about it one day. Unfortunately there are many cases that involve a child getting shot. Not every case has a happy ending though. Fortunately for this one, we get a pretty good one.
In this particular case, a 4 year old named Carter Hill was a victim of road rage. Carter was riding in the rear passenger seat with his sister Dahalia, while his mother Cecelia was driving. Before the unfortunate event occurred, Cecelia had approached an intersection where a white Pontiac was blocking the entrance. Cecelia was trying to get her and her children to their destination without any issues, just safe and sound. Unfortunately for the Hill family, they honked at someone who apparently didn’t have anything to lose. After she had honked for a little while, the white Pontiac eventually moved, but he also decided to follow the Hill family after moving out of their way. The white Pontiac tailed the Hill family for a little while before deciding to let off some shots at Cecelia’s SUV. While the shots pierced her SUV going through the window, one had penetrated her 4 year old son Carter in the middle of his forehead. Cecelia paused for a minute to check her son and then sped her way down the street till someone helped her. Celcelia eventually found someone to help her and rushed to the hospital. At the hospital, surgeons performed to the best of their ability and were able to save the life of Carter Hill.
After reading this article, I am very saddened to know that 23 children are shot everyday since 2015 in the united states, according to a poll taken by the Washington Post. This article is very informative when it comes to learning about how many children are shot in the US everyday and every year; and whether or not they’re fatal or nonfatal.
