Individualized
Educational Programs
By observing many
children with different IEP I got interested in their situation like they
development, treatment and preparation. These children born with difficulties
that with these programs can move forward or improve these impairments, But as
a future teacher I got interested in the process that this children and their
family have to do to receive this benefits.
According to the book
Introduction to Contemporary Special Education by Deborah Deutsch Smith and
Naomi Chowdhuri Tyler “Senator Tom Harkin represents the state of Iowa see how
his brother, Frank, lost his ability to hear at very young age. Senator Harkin
saw how low expectations, lack of accessibility, and discrimination restricted
his brother participation in activities that most American’s take for granted”.
I used this because in those days we don’t have all the information and knowledge
we have now and I see we change many thing in the disability system, but we still
have to upgrade the way we are educating our children that they can understand and
accept them more the way education is functioning.
How serious the schools
are taking the responsibility of this cases and how hard we work with them in
their process, also teaching our children to accept to live together, work with
children with IEP. I have been working with those cases and that why I want to
talk about because I want to much better way and benefits for these children not
only in schools also in our society.
