One of the top 3 credit report agencies Equifax was recently hacked, where about 143 million Americans social security numbers have been exposed. This seems to be one of the biggest hacks that has ever been reported in which Gartner security analyst Avivah Litan quotes it to be"On a scale of 1 to 10, this is a 10 in terms of potential identity theft,". Equifax is one of the largest credit agencies that collect data on basically everything a person will come across from missed rent , utilities bills and employment history.
