Trump Moves to End DACA and Calls on Congress to Act

Since the beginning of his government, President Donald Trump has been focused on immigrants. For this reason, maintain undocumented people anguish about their migratory status. However, this situation became worst after his decision about DACA program. The New York Times on September 5, 2017, in the article “Trump Moves to End DACA and Calls on Congress to Act.” by Michael D. Shear and Julie Hirschfeld Davis, President Trumps ordered an end to Obama era Law. And as a promise during his presidential campaign had to finalize with the program Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). A policy that since 2012 has been protecting around 800,000 children who arrive illegally to the United States by their parents. Also, President Trump urging Congress to pass a replacement before he begins phasing out its protections in six months. But the reality is, that as minors they did nothing wrong but now with this decision they will become eligible for deportation. The article quotes, President Trump begging said he is driving by a concern for “the millions of Americans victimized by this unfair system.” As expected, this decision brought angry reactions in the society and many comments including ex-president Barack Obama who through his Facebook page call his successor decision “wrong,” “self-defeating” and “cruel.”

In other words, to end DACA program is a sorrowful decision that is going to build a big wall in front of many young people faces. Individuals who grew up in this country and everything that they know is this society. We are talking about people with many efforts and confronting several challenges had got their education, work permit, driver license. And some of them had been allowed to study in college and become a professional like doctors, professors, lawyers, nursing, etc.  Only the idea that they would have to return to their place of birth where many of them never went since their move is a scary feeling. Also, these people would be separated from their family and take away their children’s future.

Furthermore, those people are human beings before immigrants who came as illegal do not for their decision, it was their parent’s yearning for the American dreams and a better future for their children. Those young people are Americans too and many of them pay taxes like others, they work hard and have a social responsibility, and they are people who care about this country with love because this is their home the only thing that they know and have feelings for it as well as America's native do.

Finally, a quick Congress action is vital because those people can not live with uncertainty about what will happen in the next six months or worry about their future. They need a law that protects them independently of any presidential decision. Also, President Trump as a representative of immigrant’s nation has to encourage protection and confidence in his words not alarming the society because many of these immigrants are contributing to "make America great" as he wants it.
