Step up for your free meal

New York City has always been a city of diversity, from different nationalities, different cultures, to different fashion styles. There's always something that makes a new yorker unique or standout from the rest of us, but overall there seems to be a similarity that many share, specifically among the youth. Many of the youth who assist a school system are not getting a proper nutrition because some don't have the funds necessary and others who do, don't take advantage of this.

According to ms. Pearlman, "The Free School Lunch For All" is going to expand their eligibility to an extra 200,000 students. The expansion of the program will help many students who didn't qualified, because their parents income was over the requirement. Even students who don't qualified for free meals, will now benefit from the program by reducing their meal cost. According to the CFA, a program that has advocated free lunches for years says that this will benefit many students who qualified for the free meal program but chose not to participate in fear of being bullied.

The goal is to make everyone have the same or similar access to a free meal, weather or not you come from a low income household. This program will help not only low income households but also families that make too much, yet that still have a hard time making ends meet. Most importantly, it will benefit the ones that really need it but were scared of becoming victims of bullying.
