Equifax data breach affect closely half of US population.

A major credit-monitoring company, Equifax, publicly stated that there was massive data security breach incident caused by hackers that occurred back on July 29, 2017.  The data breach incident exposes private information belonging to 143 million Americans, in which is almost half the United States population.  These sensitive information includes names, social security numbers, birthdays, bank accounts and addresses.  Also, 209,000 credit card accounts was hacked as well, not only in the US but also in Canada and the United Kingdom.  Currently, Equifax officials are cooperating with the FBI during the cyber-attack investigation.

Another Equifax scandal to be added in the mix was that three top officials sold their stock shares, total value $1.8 million, days after the data breach incident.  There were no comment on stock sales, but Equifax stated an apology to consumers for the incident.
